BCS System Should Stay

Some say the BCS system is a total mess. I say the BCS is perhaps the most under appreciate system in all of sports. Most will say that we need a playoff to determine the national champion of college football. I say bullshit; we already have a playoff system (the regular season) which makes watching college football every weekend exciting.
Take for example WVU just last weekend. How many college football fans (including Buckeye fans) would have tuned in to that game to watch WVU play Pitt? Furthermore, if we had a playoff system teams like WVU would not have to even show up on the last week of the season (going in to the game WVU, in a playoff system, would have been a solid #2 and even with the upset would have probably locked up the 7 or 8 spot). Where is the fun in that? So a team who completely gets shut down by a 4-7 Pitt team should be allowed in the playoffs? That makes no fucking sense.
If a playoff system is put in place every game will no longer matter as it does today. Would the OSU loss to Illi mattered as much as we first thought it would? Absofuckinglutely NOT. When OSU lost to Illi the Buckeyes dream season seemed over. With a playoff system Buckeye fans could really give to shits about 1 or 2 losses (especially if the playoff system allowed 2 at large teams). If that was the case rivalry games would cease to exist. Who cares if OSU lost to UM every year, fuck it, we could still get in the playoffs.

Next year, OSU stars a 2 year deal with USC. Now talk about a great match up; and only with the BCS system does it have huge national title implications. With a playoff system this would just be another game (you can do this with any team, Texas v OU, UM v ND (haha I know)). If OSU loses to USC they most likely will fall out of the national championship picture, unless they have major help from the teams ahead of them.
Think back to what has made watching your favorite college football team. To me it is that every game counts, ever single one. WVU found out the hard way, that if you take a week off, you're done. Now did OSU get very lucky this year, yes, but the other teams ahead of them did not show up.
Is the BCS perfect? Hell no. But does it make college football and every Saturday for 14-16 weeks fucking fantastic, hell yes.
